Includes an early photospread of Marilyn Monroe (as Marilyn Monroe) by Andre de Dienes, under the title 'A Star is Born.' Photographs are in black-and-white throughout issue, including the Monroe feature. The magazine proudly noted that Monroe was the cover girl for their August, 1949 issue, again photographed by Dienes. Dienes (born Dienes Andor in Transylvania, Austria-Hungary) was the first photographer to extensively use Monroe as a model and did much to create her image.
